Subconscious Beliefs
and the Seven Habits of
Successful People

“ In developing our own self-awareness many of us discover ineffective scripts, deeply embedded habits that are totally unworthy of us, totally incongruent with the things we really value in life.”

Stephen R. Covey
The Seven Habits of Highly
Effective People

Inspired by the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen R. Covey, this module introduces participants to the power of the subconscious mind in turning very good ideas into very good habits. Our behaviors are determined by our beliefs. Successful people have habits that make life more of a self-fulfilling prophecy than a day to day struggle! When subconscious beliefs conflict with conscious goals, we often experience self-defeating thoughts and self-sabotaging behaviors. True habits are automatic behaviors. Using PER-K™ techniques you can make “Successful Habits” an automatic part of your life. Each “Habit” is supported by key subconscious beliefs that will align your thoughts and behaviors with your goals. Make success your new habit!
THE KINDS OF BELIEFS THAT ARE IDENTIFIED AND CHANGED
Individuals are able to tap their full potential for increasing personal and professional effectiveness by changing self-defeating beliefs into self-empowering ones.
Self-Defeating Beliefs
Self-Empowering Beliefs
"Other people usually have better ideas than I do so I'll just keep quiet."
"I express my opinions and take action to support the success of the organization."
"I can't trust others because they're just in it for themselves."
"I consistently look for and expect the best from myself and others."
"I take things as they come and spend most of my time ‘putting out fires.’" "I organize and execute my life around priorities."
"I expect there to be winners and losers. It’s just the way it is."
"My thoughts and actions continuously express my win/win attitude."
"I understand more than others, so it’s
important that they understand me."
"I seek to understand others before stating my point of view."

These are just a few examples of the beliefs that affect habits for success. Participants receive additional belief statements associated with this category and check each one for acceptance by their subconscious mind. Detailed handouts are included to reduce the need for note taking and to enhance the individual's ability to concentrate on the experience.
